memorial day.

we enjoyed a nice day together at home. the sun was shining initially this morning so josh and mitchel got to work in the yard and coleman was out on his bike. by noon the clouds had returned and it was raining on and off.

while coleman napped the rest of us had a mariokart challenge on the wii. i so need to sneak in some practicing when the boys are in bed b /c I got last place EVERY time! i just don't have the hang of the wheel thing and the tracks are so confusing. i was all over the place. i love spending time with my family like this. i often think i need to "be productive" during coleman's naps, but i like when i remember the fact that enjoying time with everyone doing things they love is the most productive thing i can do. why don't i remember this all the time?

late this afternoon we headed over to my parents for dinner. we had a yummy barbeque and dad's famous ice cream. i love the fact that we live 5 minutes away. i love that we can pop over for a fun evening together. for 10 years we dreamed about what it would be like to live that close to family. i must say, it is even better than i thought.
