Conversations with Coleman.


coleman. january 2010. age 4.4


coleman: is south up and north down? (referring to a map - one of his favorite things to make at school)

mom: no, north is up and south is down.

coleman: okay, so heaven is north?

___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___

coleman: what is mother’s day?

mom: the day you are extra nice to your mommy.

coleman: so you are mean to her on the other days? (said with much confusion!)

___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___

I love the way he says a few words..... I know I should correct him and help him talk correctly ( I mean this is what I do after all, but I will admit....I love it and I’m not quite ready for him to talk totally like a big boy)

be-noyed = annoyed

be-nore = ignore

be-tack = attack

be-stroy = destroy

fink = think

I love it when Jayce says things wrong, too! :P Like he says "Cameron" for camera. Coleman is too cute!

you are never too late my friend. each stage is one they will grow out of. i often think of some of the insane things i said when i was a teacher without children. my mind was so black and white. it was a stage that i now look back at and laugh - not to mention grateful that parents put up with such a young "green" teacher. so even in their teens you will still be recording who they are at the time :)
