Easter Egg Hunt.

Easter weekend actually came with decent weather this year. My parents held a grand Easter Egg Hunt at their house for my kids. It was such fun. They have a large yard with lots of trees, fences, rocks, and numerous other hiding places. Each child had a certain color egg they were hunting for - allowing the younger kiddos to find eggs without the big kids getting them all! There were also patterned eggs and eggs of different colors and special eggs with dollar bills in them that were for anyone that found them. I think each child had a least 30 eggs to find. They ran, hunted, giggled and squealed.

Talent.

how did they know that these are my two favorite songs?? this is amazing. as most of you know I have not one single grain of musical talent, and yet I love music almost more than anyone I know. Mitchel is in piano now, and I am hoping he will play this for me one day :)

Toothless

Ashley lost her 2 front teeth. She is growing up right before my eyes. I'm not sure I'm ready.

A much needed update.

This blog has been seriously neglected. And I seriously hate that. What I don't write down I forget. And I don't want to forget. There have been a few posts here and there but for the most part 2009 is non-existent. I guess this is what happens when you are working full-time, a mommy to four, wife to one, grad student, young women leader and hopefully a friend in there too.

Although busy, life is good to me. Here is my little re-cap.

January brought great snow. Typically, Idaho snow is very dry and not good snow-man making snow. However, January's snow was lovely.







Mitchel spent at least an hour, all by himself, building this snowman. He was so proud of himself. I was pretty proud of him too.




January brings basketball season. The boys had a great season, only losing one game. And they don't seem to be intimidated that they are the smallest kids on the team.




And Coleman made one of his favorite "works" of all time at school. He did all the tracing, cutting, and painting. He loves to tell us what the continents are.



February brought Valentines Day....

and Mitchel's first piano recital



March came and my little girl turned 7.



Coleman learned all about St. Patrick's Day at school and made a trap to catch all the leprechauns. Unfortunately, the trap didn't work (they did sprinkle some gold on it though) and they did some serious damage to his classroom. You should have seen Coleman's eyes. Have I mentioned how much I love his school??



And the cousins came for a fun spring break visit.

Doggie Daycare

Last week Josh was taking care of our friend's dog Bauer. After a few days of going over to their house to feed him and check on him, Josh decided that he was lonely and was in need of some TLC. He brought him over to our house and I'm pretty sure Ashley thought she had died and gone to heaven. Not sure what Bauer thought exactly, but he never made one complaint. I'm pretty sure that 24 hours is the perfect amount of time to have a pet.

Valentines

Tonight Josh took the older boys to the high school basketball game. Coleman crashed out for the night at 7:15. With no boys around Ashley and I decided it was the perfect opportunity for some girl time. We decided to make homemade valentines for her school class. We turned on some girl music, got out all the supplies (including jelly beans) and crafted the night away. I cut the paper and tied the bows and Ashley stuck everything on, addressed and signed all 21 valentines. We had such a good time. Thank goodness for a little girl who loves paper and ribbon and cutting as much as I do!
