summertime and water-fights.....they just go together.

inspiration point

Summer is flying by. Ashley keeps asking me why summer goes by so fast. I wish I had an answer or better yet, the solution to slowing it down. Until I get that figured out, we are packing in as much fun as we can handle and trying hard to savor each moment.

Invention.

Mitchel is my little inventor. Always has been and I am guessing he always will be. He is always interested in how things work or how they are made. His brain just thinks like that. It is pretty cool. Sometimes I find myself impatient with all his inventions and experiments because they are often messy, but I am trying hard to relax and just enjoy watching his little mind work. Here was a favorite invention from this summer. I believe this super-straw was just 5 straws linked together, but he made one that had 20-something! I can't wait to see what he "grows up" to be!

Wiped Out

The field trip was over. We were sufficiently exhausted.

Temple Square

On our last day in Utah, we picked Josh up at the airport and then headed to temple square. We toured the conference center and briefly walked around the temple. We saw 3 brides in our short time there,which was exciting for Ashley. There was so much more to see and do, but the little ones were just not interested! Justin is making plans with grandma for a return visit to hit all the spots we missed!

Trip Highlight

If I ask my kids what their favorite part of our Utah Field Trip was, swimming at the hotel pool is the most frequent answer! Ahhh, the simple things.

Temple Open House

"I love to see the temple. I'm going there someday..." This is a song sung often by my kids both at church and at home. While we were in Utah, my mom and I took the kids to the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple open house. Before temples are dedicated, they are open to the general public to tour. It was raining when we went into the temple and it was still raining when we came out, so I was unable to get any pictures of the event.
My greatest hope is that my kids felt some of the peace that lies within temple walls and saw the beauty of the Lord's House and hopefully further kindled a desire to "go there someday."
