I have been blessed with such a good mom. I could fill pages with my fond memories, her amazing characteristics, and kind deeds. I love that she and I have such a good relationship and I cannot think of a time when we did not. I never went through a phase were I did not "like" my mom. I love that she is kind, willing to give to others, is a good listener, and shows she knows and cares about you. I have such a good example right before my eyes of how to be a good mom. Sometimes when I find myself being short tempered or frustrated with my kids I think of her - I don't think she ever got frustrated! She was always just helping us and listening to us and making us always feel like we were important and what we had to say was brilliant and important also. I learned a lot from her and really, I guess I am still learning. I may have a long ways to go, but I do know what I am aiming for!

The best part is she is just as good a grandma. My kids squeal with delight every time they see her. We live here now, but the excitement of seeing her and spending time with her has not worn off and I don't think it ever will. They literally squeal and hug her like its been ages since they've seen her last. I love it and I think she does too. I don't blame them- sometimes I feel like squealing myself!

I have really fond memories of your mom, too :) I was so lucky to have you guys as my family when I was up visiting my dad those summers!
Happy Birthday to your mom! I have so many pleasant memories of her...amazing broccoli casserole being just one of them. Please let her know I say hi.
Cheers!
