she's a girl. my one and only girl. and boy am i happy that she loves all things girly.

she loves her barbies.

and her american girl dolls.

she loves reading. especially the daisy meadows "fairy" books

stuffed animals. she loves her animals way too much to have them sleep on a shelf. they need to be close and warm and comfy.

she loves painted nails and curled hair.

and let's not forget dancing, playing school, littlest pet shops, make-believe games, drawing, all accessories, hannah montana, and taylor swift.

and i can't forget her giggle.

Baptism.

Saturday, March 6, 2010 was a pretty special day around our house. Ashley turned 8 and got to be baptized on her actual birthday. She has really been looking forward to this day. She even took it upon herself to invite people that are special to her, like her 2nd grade teacher. Ashley was delighted when she saw her there! We had lots of friends and family join us for her special day. It seriously made my heart full to feel the love from our family and friends here. I was also touched by the family members who although couldn't be here, remembered her special day and called to talk to Ashley. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful people a part of my life and the lives of my children.

and although all of our eyes are squinty, we were so happy for the sunshiny day, we aren't about to complain about our eyes...

almost 8

my little girl is almost 8.

she met with the bishop and the primary president this past Sunday and now she is all ready for her baptism this coming Saturday.

man oh man where has all the time gone?

i'm pretty convinced that there couldn't be a sweeter little girl in this whole wide word.

Island Park. Without kids.

Last weekend Josh planned a weekend getaway for the two of us. We headed to Island Park on Friday afternoon for the weekend. We ate out, went snowmobiling for the first time, slept in, and soaked up some uninterrupted conversation. It was thoroughly enjoyable.

The ride up to Two Top was amazing. Unfortunately there was haze and we were unable to see the incredible view from the top, but the scenery on the way up was well worth the ride. I was most amazed at the amount of people and sleds at the restaurant in the middle of the trail...

Thanks to Kristina and Brandon for keeping the kiddos happy and safe.Y'all are the best!

coleman: is south up and north down? (referring to a map - one of his favorite things to make at school)

mom: no, north is up and south is down.

coleman: okay, so heaven is north?

coleman: what is mother’s day?

mom: the day you are extra nice to your mommy.

coleman: so you are mean to her on the other days? (said with much confusion!)

I love the way he says a few words..... I know I should correct him and help him talk correctly ( I mean this is what I do after all, but I will admit....I love it and I’m not quite ready for him to talk totally like a big boy)

done forgetting.

Coleman makes me smile daily. I seem to eat up every little thing he does and all the things he says. I am sure I felt similarly when the other kids were 4 , but sadly I don’t remember it. I mean, there are things I remember, its not like I have forgotten everything, but I do wish I had recorded my conversations with them, the funny little things they said to me and all their favorite things at particular moments in time.

So, i’m done....I’m done forgetting. I am going to use my blog as a place to record the things my children say to me. The things they love. The little people they are. And you know what, not just Coleman, but all of them. Sometimes I think I’m too late, that I’ve missed the chance with my older kids. And then today I realized, they are “growing up” but they are still little. I’m pretty sure in twenty years, the things they said and the things they liked at age 7 and 9 and 11 will still be treasured details we will all be happy to have. I know I would love to know the things I said and enjoyed way back then.....

So if it bores you sorry. if there are not always pictures, sorry about that too. but this blog is for me anyway. and i am done forgetting.
