All is well.

Yesterday was lovely. The kids and I met my mom and Towne and Country Gardens to help my mom get some flowers first thing in the morning. The kids had a few squabbles over whose turn it was to pull the wagon, etc. but all in all we managed to leave without too serious of issues or disturbances! I then helped my mom plant flowers in some of her flower boxes. She is not supposed to dig in the dirt or breathe it in b/c of all the mold and bacteria that live in soil. I was willing to help her of course but she had to tutor me along, b/c my thumb in not as green as hers; not even close. She wore her gloves and mask and showed me exactly where to plant and I managed to get them in the ground! It was lovely just enjoying the nice warm sunshine and spending time with my mom. Seems like ages since we've done that.

The kids were of course starving before we could leave and so we had lunch together at moms. The kids played upstairs - discovering the world of webkinz thanks to grandma's special purchase for them at the nursery. While they played, mom and I just chatted. I couldn't help but think all was well in the world. When I moved here a year ago, this is what I had envisioned - lazy days just hanging out with my mom. chatting the day away while my children behaved perfectly upstairs in their "full of every fun toy" grandkids room. Little did we know then the health issues she would face in the coming year. A few weeks ago I thought we were getting close and then she had a relapse. She contracted a few viruses that were very serious and can even cause rejection. She was back to the mask and staying home. My hopes of spending sumer together were dashed. I was worried sick for her, felt so helpless to make her feel better and felt just a little sorry for myself too that me and the kids couldn't enjoy lazy summer days with grandma. Last week, however, she received a good dr. report and was told she could venture out... with caution of course. So, yesterday was our first day together since the good news. And yes, for those 5 hours, all was well.

Today was back to reality: messy house that never seems clean no matter how much I clean it, boys being obnoxious at the table during lunch which resulted in Mitchel spitting out some of his food on the table ( then laughing, scooped it up on a napkin and put it on his brothers plate), no-one listening to their mama, boys fighting with each other, coleman refusing to nap, justin farting in his sisters face (and thinking it was funny), children copping attitudes when told no, and the mommy yelling way more than she should....
